Product Use and Behavior (PUB) Instrument

The Carolina Medical Electronics (CME) Product Use and Behavior (PUB) instrument is designed to capture an array of smoking topography measurement during the puffing process for electronic cigarettes. The CME PUB will connect between the battery and cartridge of an electronic cigarette and activated when a subject takes a puff. The puff data will be stored in the instruments EEPROM or microSD card until it connects to a host Bluetooth device to transfer the puff data. The puff data will be linked to a Study, Subject, Device, and Product through the CME PUB Central application. 

CME has developed a comprehensive software suite to capture, transfer, analyze, and report data for clinical or research studies. The software suite includes a mobile application for securely transferring data from the PUB to the Microsoft Cloud environment where the data can be analyzed using our web application CME PUB Central. CME PUB Central has the ability to interface with other IOT devices like FitBit, Oura Rings, and smart watches to collect physiological data for a wholistic picture of how the subject interacted with the product. We also offer CME Wear that runs on Samsung smart watches where we can collect physiological data and push survey questions to the subject.
