Senior Software Engineer

 Location: East Bend, North Carolina (On-Site) 

 Experience Level: Senior (5+ years) 

Position Overview

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. This role involves full-stack development using the Microsoft ecosystem, as well as hands-on work with embedded systems. You’ll contribute to the design and deployment of high-quality medical applications and play a key role in shaping our technology roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy web applications using ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, and Entity Framework on Microsoft Azure
  • Build responsive web front ends using React and design RESTful APIs
  • Develop graphical user interfaces for embedded systems using Atmel/Microchip microcontrollers
  • Work with low-level wired and wireless protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi
  • Author system design specifications which involve developing end user workflows, valuating tradeoffs and defending design decisions
  • Design and implement test plans including unit tests, integration tests and automated test scripts
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex systems across hardware and software layers
  • Manage aspects of large projects and collaborate across teams
  • Ensure all work is well-documented and meets high standards of quality and reliability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft technologies on Azure
  • Strong proficiency in ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, and Entity Framework
  • Experience with React and RESTful API development
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller programming
  • Solid understanding of low-level communication protocols
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent project management capabilities
  • Commitment to producing well-documented, high-quality code, especially in regulated environments
  • The selected candidate will be required to pass a drug test as a condition of employment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical, aerospace)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Git-based version control
